Through-hole plating
The new MetaLab has been unveiled to the media. This is an extremely simple system for through-hole plating of printed circuit boards. Although it uses chemicals, they are practically harmless to people and the environment. In addition, it requires only very small amounts of chemicals

Large-format machines
Three machine families for different target groups
Colinbus has a full range of large-format machines. These machines are used not only for machining, but also for dispensing, measuring, positioning, and other jobs where precision is important. There are presently three families of machines: CNC Studio, CIR and CMR. Each type is built in a different manner and has its own specific characteristics, and as a result, they are suitable for different target groups. Here we present a high-level overview and describe several typical features.
CNC Studio
The machines in the CNC Studio family fulfil three key requirements for small companies: they are inexpensive, they can be set up in a small space if desired (vertical orientation), and they are easy to use for CNC novices. Additionally, they can be assembled on site, which means that they can be installed in relatively inaccessible locations.
CNC Studio machines are made from steel and have sufficient mass for heavy work. They are fast and are suitable for use in fulltime production processes. Their special design allows them to be used for many different tasks, and they can be fitted with spindle motors, laser devices, plasma devices, measuring devices and dispensers.
These machines are especially easy to use and can be operated by people who do not have any previous experience with CNC machines. There is no need to work with G code or any other command language; the software is intuitive and remarkably simple. Importing CAD drawings is also very straightforward. Naturally, they can also be used in the conventional manner by CNC specialists.

Colinbus CIR machines are constructed using high-quality aluminium profiles. These profiles are fabricated specifically for machine construction, and they are milled flat where necessary. Aluminium has a number of advantages and disadvantages relative to steel. An aluminium structure is lighter, easier to assemble, and easier to maintain. A steel structure is heavier and more stable, and it is less sensitive to temperature variations. Naturally, there are many other differences, but these aspects are the most important with relatively small machines.
CIR machines can be assembled on site if necessary, which allows them to be installed in relatively inaccessible locations.
All CIR machines can be supplied as table or floor models, including a fully enclosed housing if desired. They are suitable for all relatively light jobs, but they can machine aluminium up to 2 cm thick if they are fitted with the right spindle motor.

CMR stands for ‘Colinbus Mid-Range’: flatbed table machines driven by heavy-duty servo motors and helical toothed racks. These machines are made for heavy-duty jobs and can be operated round the clock without any problems. Due to the special construction, there is essentially no limit on the achievable size. Standard models are available with maximum dimensions of 3 metres in the X axis and 15 metres in the Y axis, but even larger sizes are possible.
The Colinbus CMR series is a relatively recent design, and it incorporates the latest technology. Thanks to the popularity of this series, we receive a large amount of market feedback, which has a further beneficial effect on quality. For example, the software has been adapted to the needs and desires of users in various sectors. These new functions can save many hours in production, which helps ensure an optimal return on investment.
